Why do you work at Xcentric?

Xcentric is bigger than us.  It’s not about Chris, Trey, Tim, etc.  It’s about something so much more.  I strongly believe in the mission and core values behind Xcentric.  Chris and Trey have done a great job of maintaining strong Christian beliefs and values and it is those beliefs and values that guide Xcentric and the decisions we make.

How & why did you get into technology?

I landed in technology by default.  I came to Xcentric in a finance capacity and had a little understanding of technology, but have really enjoyed learning more about it over the past 6 years.

What are you passionate about personally? What do you really enjoy? What can’t you stop talking about?

I love to do things with my hands.  If something is broken, I like to take it apart and try to fix it.  Projects around the house including building a new deck and bar in the basement, etc. I like spending time with my family and am looking forward to our new addition in July.  I love college football – with a huge emphasis on UGA.

Where can we find you when you’re not working? What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend or a Sunday afternoon?

When I’m not working, I am usually spending time doing projects around the house.  If there are no current projects, I am just hanging out with my beautiful wife Lauren.  Our favorite thing to do on a weekend is to head down to the family beach condo and veg out in the sun.

Where did you grow up and why aren’t you there now?

I grew up in Atlanta – about 15 miles from where I currently live.  I am one of the few true native Atlantans who are still living and working here.

Why would someone NOT want to work with you?

I am a very direct person.  I tend to just tell it like it is and not sugar coat things.  I’m not a perfectionist, but I don’t like to leave things undone.

Any nonprofits you love, & why?

Lighthouse Family Retreat is a group that Lauren and I have a heart for.  We have been on several trips with them and love the way they help families deal with cancer.  This is especially meaningful to us after we had a close friend lose their battle with cancer 3 years ago.

We also participate in the MS Walk every year, which is a nonprofit group raising money to search for a cure for MS.  We got started with this through  a friend whose mother has MS, only to find out that we have a family member who was diagnosed a couple of years ago.
