Trey James Chief Executive Officer
Trey James is the co-founder and CEO of Xcentric. He brings over 20 years of experience and a blend of executive, strategic, technical and operational roles, including successful roles with the regional firms, local firms and leading IT consultancies to the profession. Trey was selected as one of the "Top 100 Most Influential People" in the accounting industry for 2009 and 2010 by Accounting Today and as a "Top 40 under 40" honoree by The CPA Practice Advisor three times. Trey presents internationally on industry-related technology topics and is passionate both about learning and educating as it pertains to the future of the CPA profession. Trey graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, TX with a degree in Information Systems.
Christian James Chief Operating Officer
Christian James is the co-founder and COO of Xcentric. He is a seasoned veteran, having worked in the technology industry for the past 14 years and with CPAs for the past 13 years. Prior to starting Xcentric, Christian served as Director of Technology for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth and then became the lead technology engineer at CPA Systems in Atlanta, Georgia after selling his first business Covenant Systems. Christian spent 10 years in the Atlanta area before moving to Bozeman, Montana where he opened an Xcentric office. Christian has a business degree from Texas Wesleyan University and was recognized in The CPA Practice Advisor’s "Top 40 Under 40" in 2011 and 2012.
Roy Keely VP of Market Strategy
Roy Keely is the VP of Market Strategy at Xcentric and is charged with articulating Xcentric’s value proposition to the accounting community through industry partnerships, content development, and other strategic initiatives. Roy offers a broad range of experience in sales, marketing, and consulting and was recognized in The CPA Practice Advisor “40 Under 40" for 2012. He enjoys writing and speaking to professional service firms looking to bring practical insight and action to their firms through the use of technology tools. Roy is a native Texan and graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in marketing. Outside of work, Roy enjoys a good coffee shop or pub and doing Crossfit with his wife Andrea.
Roman Kepczyk Director of Consulting
Roman Kepczyk offers over 25 years of CPA firm experience where he has thrived as a technology consultant and as a former partner at one of the largest firms in Arizona. His primary focus at Xcentric is helping firms utilize technology by implementing today’s digital best practices. He is an Advisory Board Member to the Association for Accounting Administration, past Chairman of the AICPA Information Technology Executive Committee and a past member of the PCPS Executive Committee. Roman has been recognized in INSIDE Public Accounting’s "Most Recommended Consultants" to the profession from 2004-2012, CPA Practice Advisor’s "Top 25 Thought Leaders" from 2010-2012, and Accounting Today’s "Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting" for seven years. Roman is also a CPA.CITP, CGMA, and Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Bob Cross Director of Technology
Bob Cross is the Director of Technology at Xcentric. He has more than 15 years of senior leadership experience in a number of large companies, including Home Depot, Compaq Computers, Kaiser Permanente, and Beazer Homes. As Director of IT at Home Depot, he managed a large IT Operations department with 200+ employees that encompassed computer and network operations, data center facilities, production control and service desk support. He was also responsible for managing multiple service providers, contracts, financial analysis and metrics for all of those functional areas. Most recently, Bob ran IT Governance, Programs and Planning for the Texas Department of Public Safety. Bob graduated from Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX with a degree in Computer Science.
David Semones
David Semones is the Director of Service and Support at Xcentric. He is charged with overseeing the day-to-day operations of Xcentric’s support teams, including cloud services, managed services, applications, and client service. David is responsible for ensuring that Xcentric’s clients not only get the technical support they need, but also that the experience of working with Xcentric is a positive one. David is committed to serving clients well and is constantly looking for ways to enhance Xcentric’s processes to increase client satisfaction, reduce ticket load, and prevent problems from happening in the first place. Prior to joining Xcentric, David served as Technical Project Manager at Choicepoint (now Lexis Nexis) for 3.5 years. Before that, he was in charge of IT and operations for Vision Medical, where he worked for 3 years. David has 11 years of technology experience and is a member of HDI, the leading professional association for technical service and support professionals. David graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in business management. He is an avid bowler (with several trophies to prove it) and also enjoys hiking and being outdoors, as well as spending time with friends and family.
Tim Porterfield Controller
Tim Porterfield is the Controller at Xcentric, where he serves as top finance executive. As a member of Xcentric’s management team, Tim enjoys the operations side of things as well. Prior to joining Xcentric, Tim worked for a small private accounting firm for 6 years. Tim graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Business Administration. When not at work, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and son. Their favorite vacation spots include the beach and California wine country.
