Managed Services Consultant

Role Objectives

Xcentric is a successful and widely recognized private company that provides technology hosting and consulting services to the SMB market and seeks a highly motivated, personable, flexible, experienced professional IT consultant to facilitate the technical support requests placed by our clients.

This position focuses on our hosted products and services. These services reside in a complex data center and network environment that must be efficient, secure, scalable, reliable and cost effective. Enthusiastic commitment to delivering world-class technology solutions and the highest levels of customer service is a must.

Essential Functions

• Provide advanced technical support to Xcentric’s hosted servers, applications, and managed workstations
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot applications and servers in a heterogeneous environment
• Maintain password security, data integrity, and file system security
• Assist in further development and improvement of Xcentric’s hosted services technologies
• Communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical users
• Recommend hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades

Qualities Required

• 2 years experience in networked systems support
• Experience in network administration and supporting network service technologies
• Experience working with TCP/IP protocol suite and web connectivity
• Support of Microsoft Office Suite and functional knowledge of tools
• Strong knowledge of Windows XP/Vista/7
• Exposure to Windows 2003/2008 servers
• Experience supporting/implementing Citrix/Terminal Services technologies is a plus
• Knowledge of Virtual Server technologies like VMware/XenServer/Microsoft Virtual Server
• Must have strong troubleshooting, problem resolution and customer service skills

Education

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience
• One or more technical certifications required (CCEA, CCA, MCSE, MCP)

Salary is dependent upon experience.
